I will post a blog everyday this week about my time in Guatemala. I can’t wait to share my thoughts and stories from my time here. Its been such a good time, I want each of these stories to be shared and known.
About two years ago I was part of the weekend homeless ministry at my church. Up until that time I had never talked with a person facing homelessness before in my life. I loved meeting these people, I loved sharing the gospel and getting to know strangers. One weekend, God used me in a really cool way in how I got to pray for and connect with a woman named Nettie. I didn’t know at the time, but another woman recorded all that happened that day. She wrote an incredible story about how that day played out, what God was doing and how He was using us to love this woman well.
I was stunned as I read this story with me as one of the characters. It was a holy moment to read and remember and incredible to re-live that day from a different perspective. God told me about how that is what the disciples did too. They followed Jesus and they wrote everything down. And today, 2,000 years later we have the synoptic gospels. Three books of the same stories at the same time following the same Person. But they are different because each writer had a different perspective. How cool.
As my team and I have been diving into ministry here God put it on my heart to write everything down. I am thankful for these notes to remember this time, but also for me to share with you all.
I want to do Gods work justice by writing really well, but I know they will be good stories because He is the Author. He is the main character, He is Who makes these stories more than just stories.
My prayer is that you would get to read to hear and feel the incredible things God is doing here in Guatemala. I hope you are encouraged by how He faithfully uses His people to carry out blessings and draw people to Himself.
I have such a secure and deep sense that God planned from the foundations of the world that I may be here. On this trip at this time. Therefore I know He will provide the funds for me to stay here. He has been using you, you reading this. I am about $5,000 away from my final goal to be fully funded for my 11 month mission. Come alongside me and watch what the Lord is doing!
